This is a rare George II mahogany double-ratcheted architects/ reading table attributed to Mayhew and Ince circa 1755-60.

Over the years, the original colour of the top had been hidden by several layers of polish & a raw sienna pigment.

I took off the polish and pigment and found several dark stains underneath. I removed the dark stains carefully using chemical solvent.

Then added some colour to the whole table top surface to match the colour of the candle stand trays on both sides.
I also made a missing book support with brass pins, and other small decorations.
