This pair of chests had a different top. The one has beautiful marquetry decoration that is the original top.

The other one has mahogany veneer with some inlay works that was probably made in the 19th century.

At first I cut all the veneers to create the same design marquetry except the edge veneer decoration.

And then I take off the mahogany veneer top.

I filled with wood to close this large crack.

After stabilizing the top base, I glued the marquetry veneer.

Then I cut and glue the edge veneers.

After colour matching and polishing.
